Mount Topachau

On Sabbath, February 3, after a delicious potluck and a relaxing afternoon, Grant, Bev, and I – along with the Piersons and their 3 dogs – decided to head up Topachau to watch the sunset. And it was a fabulous idea! It was a clear day allowing us to gaze over the landscape unhindered. We could even could see the faintest outline of the first of the northern islands with the naked eye. But the Piersons had brought along their telescope, so we got an even closer look at it! The view was gorgeous, the sun was shining softly and the breeze was even a little cool! We enjoyed each others company, the dogs as they wrestled in the grass and the magnificent sunset. We ended the Sabbath by saying a prayer and then headed back down the island. What a great way to end the Sabbath!
