Valentine's Day

If you think Halloween is bad for candy and sugar highs, Valentine's day is way worse! Good thing it was only a half day of school because the students were wired and almost out of hand by 9 AM. There wasn't much sense trying to follow the regular school schedule. So I planned a bunch of Valentine's day learning activities and then right before lunch we “partied”!! I baked a “love” cake for my students and they all shared treats that they brought from home. We had also made large origami hearts in art class during the week, which have large pouches at the front. They all made valentine cards for each other and placed them in the person's origami heart pouch. It turned out really great and we all had a lot of fun.

The following evening was the Valentine's banquet for the older students. The lunchroom had a major makeover and look great once it was all decorated. The theme was a “A Class Reunion”, a play that was put on by the REAL Christian Drama Team. It turned out great and was lots of fun for all.
