All in a Day...
It's tradition. The new teacher's have to see the island, and there's no other way to see it than from the back of the Pierson's truck. So this Sabbath afternoon, the new teachers all piled in the back and the "veteran's" sat in the cab with the air con! We had a great time. We took them to all the key sites to give them a taste of the island. It was a great mixture of the old and the new: hanging out with old friends and getting to know my new friends better. I couldn't think of a better way to spend my Sabbath afternoon.
Jessica and Riki just couldn't wait...they decided to go swimming in the Grotto even though they didn't have swimming suits.
After the tour we headed to Ernie's house (the school board chairman) for another tradition - Saturday night karaoke! It was a lot of fun to just sing at the top of our lungs even if we were off tune or didn't know the words. It was an extra special night because it was also Ernie's birthday! Happy Birthday, Ernie!!! You're the best!
