Powerful Words

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth…..” (Gen. 1:1). There was nothing, except God Himself, but out of nothing He began to create. He said, “Let there be light,” and it appeared. He called for water, air, dry land, and there it was. He whispered to the sun, moon and stars, and they began their existence. Soon His words formed plants and animals, birds and fish. God’s words are powerful – He spoke and it was done.

We have a whole Book full of God’s powerful words! Not just the words of Jesus appearing in red throughout the gospels, but every single word in the Bible is straight from God. “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God” (2 Tim.3:16). Men didn’t compose the Bible, they simply wrote down the words of God as He inspired them to do so. We have access to those powerful words of God every day, and if we believe, those powerful words can do amazing things in our life, just as they did at creation. What God made when He spoke those words is evidence of what He is capable of doing in our lives!
