Jehovah Jireh
I believe that in every phase of life - in every place God that leads us to - He has a special lesson for us to learn. Needless to say, I've been learning and growing a lot spiritually in the past few years. My last year in Saipan, I learned about God's bigness and depth. I learned that His love is endless and unconditional.....and mine should be too. During my 4 months in Florida, I learned about faith - to completely trust Him in all aspects of my life. I learned that I can have perfect joy and peace when I give everything over to Him.....no matter what is happening all around me. And now, I believe that God has brought me to Thailand to show me that He truly is Jehovah Jireh - My Provider.
When we first arrived and went down to the Outreach Center, there hardly was anything there. Desks and whiteboards - that was it. I knew that in order to properly run a language center, we'd need some more supplies and resources, but I didn't know who to talk to or how to obtain these things. That's when God stepped in. First, He put me in the right places at the right times so I would meet people who were willing to help or had resources that we could use. I met Tonya in the ESL department who has been a tremendous help. She has an endless abundance of energy, resources, and creative ideas. She has taken us and the Center under her wing and has been helping so much! And I met Lalita from the Education Department who was able to give me a useful book that can help beginner English students to start speaking within 3 months! And we've met many other friendly helpful people around campus who have been willing to help out in anyway they can.
God has also been providing many of the things we need, and always right when we need it. This week has gotten a lot busier for us as we have started teaching 3 different adult classes (more about that later). With this starting up, we knew that sharing a motorcycle between 4 people would become a lot more difficult, so we had been praying for another motorcycle. At the end of last week, a Christian man who attends the campus Church, loaned us his motorcycle to use!! And constantly, with little things, God keeps providing right when I need something. I was thinking that it would be nice to have a desk or something to organize all my materials and the next day someone brought by a set of drawers that I can keep things in. That same day, I was wishing I had a stapler and not even an hour later.....two were given to me, staples and all! And I was also wondering if all the adults would bring pens or pencils.....hoping they would because we didn't have many, but not to worry - a man stopped me outside the library and handed me a bag full of pens and notebooks to use down at the center.
God has been providing over and over again in such amazing ways! Sometimes the words are hardly out of my mouth or the thoughts are barely formed in my head and what I need has already arrived. I think that is amazing because that means that God was already at work to make it happen even before I knew I needed it! He truly is Jehovah Jireh....my Provider!

You know I think the reason so many of us don't experience the fullness of God's provision is that we do so much to cover of our own bases that we don't leave Him many opportunities. I believe the more you're willing to put yourself out there the more you will experience God's provision. You've really taken a step of faith in going to Thailand and in your ministry there and as a result you've put yourself in a position where you have to depend on God and He in turn can come through for you in such amazing ways!
I'm so happy for you!
