Elephant Princess!!

After arriving in Kanchanaburi on Thursday, we got the exciting opportunity to ride elephants on Friday morning!

The platform from which we mounted our elephant.

Our view from the elephant's back

Heading down to the river...

The river which the elephant enjoyed lazily wading along

High up on our perch!

Andrew got to ride on his neck first

Then I got a turn!!! I felt like a princess!!! I couldn't stop smiling!

After the elephant ride, we waited around for awhile to watch the elephant "show." I had fun taking pictures while we were waiting.

My favorite!!!

Andrew and his goat

The elephant show!!! He can do a handstand.....
.....and pose for the camera.

He even gives massages!!!

Then he went shopping. Slip some money into his trunk and he goes over to the table where he exchanges the money for food. Then he brings the food back to you so you can feed it to him!!! I was glad that all his snacks were healthy: bananas, potatoes, and soy milk. :)

Andrew feeding him soy milk..... I could only get one photo because he drank it so quickly!

Post-show photos :)

After, we stopped in for lunch at a friend's restaurant called "Shadow Near the Mountain".....except it was in Thai, but I can't remember how to say it. It was good food, although she was disappointed that we're vegetarian because it limited the variety of "good food" that she could feed us!

From there, we headed off to the Tiger Temple....... that'll be in the next post! :)

This looks like the same elephant camp we visited in Kanchanaburi! I got the elephant massage also, after our ride.
