Sweet Home Alberta

Despite the cold winters, I proudly called Alberta "home" for 4 memorable years of my life. Every summer I try to make it back out there to visit the family & friends that still call it home.

The drive out there from BC is spectacular as the Rockies rise majestically all around. We stopped at the summit of the mountain pass for some photos.

That's where I'll be living in about 2 weeks...

We also stopped at Lake Louise so Tiffany could see

Before we reached our destination, we were blessed with a beautiful prairie sunset.

On Sabbath afternoon, we ventured up to visit the campus of my alma mater. They've done a lot of work since I left, and it looks great! One of the recent developments is the sun dial in the campus center that you see in the background of this photo.

We stayed at one of my aunt's house for the weekend and it was so much fun because some of our other relatives camped out at the farm too and they all have several foster kids, so there were about 12-15 kids running around at any given moment! This picture alone captures 4 of them!

Trenton & Nacie (sibblings, but in different foster homes)

Nacie getting ready to go swimming! Too cute!

Not only were there kids everywhere, but animals, too! These two loved each other!!

One of the main reasons for going out to Alberta, was for my cousin Tyler's wedding. It was held at my uncles farm and it turned out wonderful! Congrats Tyler & Jenn!!

Instead of a cake, they had a fruit display - what a great idea & healthy alternative!

Royce and I with the happy couple (it was really cold by this time, hence the sweater)

One of the groomsmen did a real toast.....see the toaster? He banged out a tune while singing a song/poem that he wrote. Quite creative!

Two of my uncles ran the barbecue during the reception - burgers and salads were served.

This is my great aunt Violet, it's always such a joy to see her!

The Tiffanys - my cousin's wife, my sister-in-law, and my foster cousin - we like Tiffanys!

Monday morning we went out to visit my great uncle Sam at his farm.....it's like stepping back in time!

Monday afternoon, I got to spend with my friend Rosalee and her adorable little boy, Levi. It's always great to see her and catch up. It was time well spent!

Having fun with mommy!

Levi showing off his tomato soup smile!

What a darling!!

It was such a wonderful weekend and so great to be back in Alberta, even if only for a short time.
