Just Like the Good Ol' Days.....

Even though I'm not American and I didn't have any time off school, I decided to head to Portland for American thanksgiving. Actually, the decision had been made a long, long time ago - back when I heard that both the Maycocks' and the Paez' were leaving Saipan, and Thanksgiving would be in Portland. It was a 6.5 hour drive in the dark and rain, but it was well worth it! Seeing some of my favourite people in the world was just the pick-me-up that I needed.

Carol & Sean making yummy stuff in the kitchen

The turkey - I'm vegetarian..... but it was good!!

My Saipan family - besides the kids getting bigger and the addition of the little guy, nothing had really changed. It didn't even seem weird that we weren't in Saipan. It was just great to be together!

My good friend and former colleague, Sean, and his little guy whom I've been waiting ever so patiently to see!

Barbara, another good friend and former boss (I miss working for you!)

The most adorable & happy little family :)

My kids!

I stayed with my former roommate, Judith, in her adorable little apartment. She prepared a fabulous and relaxing breakfast on Sabbath morning!

Her too-cute kitties!

Still roommates at heart!

Another shot of the perfect little family (I LOVE the little guy's face in this one!)

Old friends!

The little guy with his first "aunties" although, he'd had enough of us by this time!!

A great shot of the Paez family while we were out enjoying the Festival of Lights. It sure didn't beat the Flame Tree Festival, but it'll have to do. (It's kinda funny to see those island boys wearing fur hats!!)
It was such a fabulous weekend. It wasn't rushed in any way. We filled each moment with quality conversation, laughter, and memories. I can't wait until next year!

That was a wonderful weekend! So good to be with everyone again. I love your pictures. They've been quite a sensation on Facebook, and I think I'm going to do a whole blog with the pics you took.
