Almost Here...

It's almost here..... in just over a week, about half a million people will pour into this already crowded city. The Olympic Torch will arrive next Thursday, the Opening Ceremony is scheduled for Friday, and the Games will begin the day after that.

Being down-town last Saturday night, we decided to stroll down one of the streets that has been closed off to display art created for this special occasion.

A giant Canadian flag displayed on a corner building..... just in case tourists or athletes forget which country they're in!

Some athletes are already here - these, from Russia.

Some of the art downtown..... totem poles, representing our First Nations people.

Not sure what these are, but it looked like artwork by children...

I hope Vancouver is ready for such a huge influx of people..... as for me, I plan to avoid the insanity as much at possible!!
