My New Kicks
Picking out a new pair of running shoes is a lot like choosing a life partner. It's something that should be done with extreme care and caution. Making a hasty decision in this department can potentially cause a great a deal of pain further down the road if it's not the perfect fit.
I was contemplating these things as I walked around the running store for almost an hour testing out various shoes. With some pairs, I knew the moment I slipped them on my feet that it wasn't the shoe for me - I didn't even have to lace up or walk around in those ones. Others, felt alright, but I needed to walk around in them a bit, still a little unsure - they could work, but probably wouldn't be the best in the long run. Then, there was that last pair - the Saucony ProGrid Guide 3. I can't say I was 100% sure the moment I put them on, but after I walked around a while I went back and tried some of the other ones again. The more I tried some of the others, the more I felt drawn back to the Sauconys*. And finally, I just knew.
I've heard people say, "When it's the right person, you just know!" Maybe it's an immediate feeling. Maybe it's a gradual process, like it was with my new kicks. Either way, you gotta be certain before you jump in with both feet!

* Note: I'm not suggesting that one must date around a lot before meeting the right person. Often, by interacting with a person on a friendship basis, you can get an idea of whether a person would even be a potential fit or not.

It's hard to get good shoe advice here on Saipan esp. for a supinator like me. I like Saucony, in fact the ProGrid Guide 3 was suggested to me too. I think I will try out the Gel-Foundation 9 though because it has "maximum support for severe overpronators". Or I'll just ride my bike :)
Great analogy BTW.
