The Leader in Me

It's been a short week - 3 days of kids. Today and tomorrow are Professional Development days. As a staff, we read the book "The Leader In Me" by Stephen R. Covey. It's based on "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" and how those habits can be taught to children from a young age.
As a school, we're taking on the leadership theme and make it a part of our culture. So, for our Pro-D days we're getting the certification and training so we can begin implementing it. It's pretty great! One of my favourite quotes so far: "Leadership is communicating to people their worth and potential so clearly that they are inspired to see it in themselves." That's what I want to do for my students!

Mai, we need to talk, I would like to try and implement some of this into my Bible curriculum, if it's practical and straight forward.

Yeah, totally! It's not a Christian book, but he does stress the fact that, not only does the physical, mental and emotional aspects of a person need to be taken care of, but all so the spiritual. And once you learn the habits, there are tonnes of examples in the Bible of people, especially Jesus, who applied the 7 habits in their lives. Let's definitely talk! :)
