A Little Drop of Green

Last month, my roommate Lizzy and two of our friends, Ivan & Presley, set off for a good Sabbath afternoon hike that started a couple of hours away from home. It was beautiful sunny afternoon and we were delighted to be out of the city and in the heart of nature. The first leg of the trip was warm and breezy with decent elevation gain. It led us to the serene scene of Lindeman Lake.

After the lake, we continued on towards the next lake. There was a lot of scree to scramble over along the way.

Before long, we hit the snow line and had to start layering because it got cold!

(I'm not sure why I look happy in this picture - I definitely was not happy to see the snow!)

Due to all the snow and spring run-off, the trail was basically non-existent in some places and we had to rely on the orange tags marking the trees. The going was slow, navigating through the trees and over creeks, but we managed to stay relatively on course.

We finally made it to our destination - Green Drop Lake - a cute little lake nestled in the midst of the silent forest. Because of all the snow, we weren't able to get very close to the lake or stay very long, but it was nice to reach our destination.
